Cambridge Friends School Music Festival
Cambridge Friends School presents
The Second Annual CFS Music Festival,
Saturday, May 15, 2010, 12pm to 4pm at the
Friends Meeting House at Cambridge,
5 Longfellow Park, Cambridge, MA
On the main stage, family-friendly musical acts include: folk singer Alistair Moock, whose latest award-winning album for kids is The Cow Says Moock; local Boston Favorite Jim's Big Ego, a band that rocks "harder, fresher, louder, sweeter and better than everyone else;" The JEF Trio, a jazz-rock-funk group that features improvised music; and Dana Colley (a founding member of the "low rock" favorite Morphine) & Jeremy Lyons, playing their brand of psychedelic delta-blues. The festival will also feature jazz music from The Harry Fix Trio as well as the Cambridge Friends School's very own jazz band!
In addition to music, there will be arts and crafts and other kid-friendly activities including an "Instrument Petting Zoo" sponsored by Club Passim, the legendary listening room in Harvard Square where Joan Baez and Bob Dylan got their start, and Stubblebine Lutherie, the premier repair shop in the Boston area for guitars, mandolins and other stringed instruments.
Also, there will be delicious food for purchase from two restaurant icons: International and Vegetarian Specialties from Harvard Square's own Grendel's Den Restaurant & Bar; and a Taco bar provided by Viva Mexican Grill, sister restaurant to local favorite Jose's Mexican Restaurant on Sherman Street.
Join us for a joyful and fun-filled day of music, friendship and food!
