Joey Arias at L'etage
On the heels of the TriBeca Film Festival US Premiere of the "Arias with a Twist" docufantasy, legendary performer Joey Arias returns to L'etage for a one night only engagement.
About Joey Arias
Arias moved to New York City in the late 1970's and quickly established himself in NYC's renegade art communities. Beginning at legendary Club 57, he forged relationships with seminal artists including Klaus Nomi, Ann Magnuson, Keith Haring, Kenny Scharf and John Sex. Mr. Arias' later work includes his evocative 'channeling' of Billie Holiday, and performances at seminal New York nightclubs including Jackie 60 and Squeezebox. Arias also originated the role of the emcee in Cirque du Soliel's "Zumanity" in Las Vegas. After a 6 year run, he returned to New York to star in "Arias with a Twist," a collaboration Basil Twist that became a run-away hit extending and extending again for a 6-month run.
Currently Arias is developing a brand new, high concept concert directed by Manfred Thierry Mugler and produced by Earl Dax. The show is slated for a world premiere at Abrons Arts Center in New York City in September of this year.
