Harlan: In the Shadow of Jew Suss
Veit Harlan was one of Nazi Germany's most notorious filmmakers. Millions all across occupied Europe saw his films, the most deceitful of which was the viciously anti-Semitic propaganda film Jew Suss (1940), produced under Joseph Goebbels and required viewing for all SS members. Harlan was the only artist from the Nazi era to be charged with war crimes. This film includes interviews with his children and grandchildren as they consider his legacy and the hard questions it continues to pose.
