Champions for Change
Community United Against Violence (CUAV) proudly invites our friends, supporters, and allies to join us for our 28th anniversary event, Champions for Change, to be held on Thursday, March 22, 2007. We will be celebrating 28 years of hard work addressing and preventing violence against and within LGBT communities, and laying the foundation for many more. This year, we will be honoring locally and nationally acclaimed allies who have provided exemplary leadership in the movement against violence, including San Francisco District Attorney Kamala Harris; Beverly Upton, Executive Director of the San Francisco Domestic Violence Consortium; and our community partner, Asian Women's Shelter.
Come enjoy delicious hors d'oeuvres, inspiring honorees, and fabulous entertainment, including renowned comedienne Marga Gomez, singer and songwriter Levi Kreis, and DJ Earworm. Sponsors for this event include Queers Mobilized Against Tobacco Sponsorship, AAA of Northern California, Nevada, and Utah, AARP, Alvin Baum, Assemblymember Mark Leno, Betty's List, Curve Magazine, Eric Castongia, Marta Drury & Kerry Lobel, Gay.com Local Scene, Lil Somethin Somethin Catering, Steamworks, and Whole Foods. Sponsorship opportunities are available. The Champions for Change Host Committee includes Russell Brent & Nick Hodges, Michael Delgado & Joe Leone, Kevin Goebel, Jovida & Sandy Guevara-Ross, Christiana Remington & Lisa Williams, Lateefah Simon, Fresh White, Andy Wong, and Terry Wright.
