69 Stories: One Pervert's Tale
You think it's easy to find someone to respect you after you lick their boots? Neither does founding member Crowded Fire Resident Artist and recently vested Ms. SF Leather, Mollena Williams. Her hilarious, erotic and poignant 69Stories: One Pervert's Tale first enticed audiences in 2001 down the road less traveled to the San Francisco BDSM community. The show played to sold-out crowds and surprised even other perverts with its daring and hilarity. Now, this irrepressible submissive diva will revive her legendary performance with new twists and turns in an updated performance to benefit Crowded Fire.
Last seen in Crowded Fire's DRIP, the talented solo artist Mollena Williams takes the art of storytelling to a whole new level in her self-authored shows. "Ms. Williams is a fascinating performer! To enter this world," exclaimed Chad Jones in his Oakland Tribune review, "you couldn't ask for a better guide." With unrelenting wit, humor and sexiness, Ms. Williams spares neither herself nor her former partners as she treats audiences to a closer look at the wild side of love, partnership and good sex.
The decision to present 69 Stories again came out of one of her responsibilities as Ms. SF Leather. "We're asked to undertake fundraising for specific non-profits that are supportive of the kink community," explained Ms. Williams. The Ms. San Francisco Leather organization supports the San Francisco based Transgender Law Center and Lyric, a support organization for LGBTQ youth. As Titleholder, Mollena was permitted to add a third non-profit and chose Crowded Fire. "It seemed an obvious choice. Crowded Fire has always been supportive of my work in the BDSM and Leather community. By developing and producing 69Stories, the company helped change hearts and minds about kink. Bringing back a newly revitalized version of 69 Stories seems like a perfect fit."
Included in Ms. SF Leather's responsibilities is also a commitment to educating people about the BDSM and Alternative community lifestyle. A long time advocate on Leather Lifestyle Issues and one of the most sought after speakers at kink events throughout the country, Ms. Williams eagerly embraces her role. "It might seem a vast and baffling, dark and scary thing--this kinky lifestyle with whips and chains," said Ms. Williams. "Usually you see kinky people as perps, or victims, or background color episodes of CSI, but really we ARE all over. We are your doctors, teachers, parents, family, and co-workers. I do my best to lead a transparent life so that others might be inspired to shed shame and learn to safely indulge their desires...even the kinky ones...ESPECIALLY the kinky ones."
And while her lectures naturally benefit from her training as a performer, her role as a leader and teacher in the BDSM community will inform updates to this version of 69 Stories now in its fourth iteration. "We're envisioning the piece as somewhat of a cross over between her solo performance and her lectures," says Crowded Fire Artistic Director, Marissa Wolf. "It's as much a conversation between Mollena and the audience as it is a performance piece."
Tickets are $25 in advance/$35 at the door. VIP Tickets for Friday, May 21 are $50 and include a post show reception with Ms. Williams.
