Displaced
Written and performed by Girl Be Heard Company Members in collaboration with girls abroad, Displaced puts a personal face on homelessness, displacement, and the consequences of conflict. From the genocide of Native Americans and the crisis of undocumented minors in the US, to the quickly growing numbers of international refugees and the story of an Afghan mother who loses her children to gender based violence, this performance questions the conflicts that divide us and sets us out on a road to peace. Many stories in the show have been directly passed on to our company members from girls living in refugee camps abroad. Displaced gives voice to countless young women and their families who yearn for peace and a safe place to live.
