HANDS UP: 6 Playswrights - 6 Testaments
The Hansberry Project with support from the University of Washington School of Drama is proud to present:
HANDS UP: 6 Playwrights/6Testaments.
Originally commissioned by New Black Fest, HANDS UP: 6 Playwrights/6Testaments showcases the voices of 6 black male playwrights as they explore their feelings about the well-being of black men in a culture of institutional profiling.
THE TESTAMENTS: "Superiority Fantasy" by Nathan James "Holes in My Identity" by Nathan Yungerberg "They Shootin! Or I Ain't Neva Scared... "by Idris Goodwin "Abortion" by Glenn Gordon NSangou "Walking Next to Michael Brown" by Eric Holmes "How I Feel" by Dennis Allen II
A post-show discussion will provide a forum for an important discussion around the urgent issues of justice, morality, fairness and compassion. The events in Ferguson MO, Cleveland OH, Staten Island NY and elsewhere around the country make these plays relevant and the conversation they invite essential. Please join us!
Admission is by Donation/Pay-What-You-Will. For information: visit www.hansberryproject.org or email info@hansberryproject.org
