You will enjoy a superb gourmet dinner with wines and an unforgettable cabaret performance concert featuring songs from: "Ain't Misbehavin'", "Fosse", "Big", "Baby", and "Miss Saigon". These two great musical legends will be the guests of honor! RICHARD MALTBY, JR. and DAVID SHIRE began working together as students at Yale and their writing partnership has continued for nearly five decades. With Broadway and off-Broadway productions to their credit, they have also collaborated on numerous songs, which have been recorded by artists ranging from Barbra Streisand to Andy Williams to Liz Callaway. A few show highlights: "Starting Here, Starting Now", "Closer Than Ever", "Baby" and "Big". Additionally, RICHARD MALTBY, JR. conceived and directed two Tony Award-winning Broadway musicals: "Ain't Misbehavin'" and "Fosse". Maltby collaborated on the lyrics for "Miss Saigon", and for the highly anticipated production of "The Pirate Queen", which opens this spring on Broadway. He directed and co-wrote Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Song & Dance". His first film, "Miss Potter", stars Renee Zellweger and Ewan McGregor, and opened this January. Maltby contributes crossword puzzles to Harper's Magazine. Additionally, DAVID SHIRE, has been the recipient of an Academy Award and two Grammy Awards, along with a prolific career in theatre, film and television. His current stage project, the musical "Take Flight", opens in London next fall. Shire's feature film scores include "Norma Rae" (Academy Award for Best Song), Francis Ford Coppola's "The Conversation", "All the President's Men", and "Saturday Night Fever" (for which he received two Grammy Awards). He recently completed the score for the film "Zodiac". Seating for this special event is limited to 140 guests.
