Some would say the Catholic Church has grown irrelevant and uncompromising in modern times, but the film Band of Sisters tells the story of the Church's bravest heroesthe nuns of the 1960s and onwards who have banded together in cities across America to fight for social justice, even when their actions have provoked the anger of the Vatican. Band of Sisters brings to light the graceful struggles of some of our most dedicated fighters in the push for civil and immigration rights, as Fishman compiles interviews with these women religious that cover half a century of activism.
