A premiere screening of LOU HARRISON: A WORLD OF MUSIC a film by Eva Soltes will take place on Tuesday, March 6 at the Castro Theater in San Francisco as a prelude to the 2012 Mavericks Festival (March 8-19) presented by the San Francisco Symphony. The film, directed and produced by Eva Soltes, is an in-depth, lyrical and long-awaited biography of the legendary composer Lou Harrison (1917-2003). It represents over two decade of documentation and work. A special organ performance by renowned composer and musician Terry Riley will precede the film.
All proceeds from this event will support Harrison House Music & Arts, an artist residency/performance program founded by Soltes at Harrison's straw bale retreat in Joshua Tree, CA. Harrison House Music & Arts keeps Harrison's legacy alive by supporting the work of gifted artists.
