First Sip Celebration at Ravenswood
First Sip Celebration at Ravenswood Ravenswood Historic Site Livermore, CA
You're Invited to a Wine Tasting!
Enjoy the inaugural wines from the Corvino Bosco (roughly translated from the Italian words for 'raven' and 'woods') Vineyards at the Ravenswood Historical Site in beautiful Livermore, CA. You are invited to our "First Sip Celebration" wine tasting on Saturday, June 16, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm. Your hosts for the event are viticulturalists Michael Princevalle and Bryan Rahn and Livermore Area Recreation and Park District.
This event will include tastings of our Grenache/Mourvedre and Zinfandel wines made from the vineyards, a delectable assortment of gourmet appetizers that accentuate the wines, music, and tours through the vineyards on the history on the vines, the wines, and the venue (dress to enjoy walking through the rolling vineyards). Meet enologist (winemaker) Chad Alexander who will be able to answer questions about the wines.
The Ravenswood grapes are farmed in 'old world style' with 'head-trained' vines, which reflects the historic essence of the Ravenswood Historical site. The wines from this vineyard have exceptional flavor profile, with rich, dark fruit and berry flavors with a hint of spice, along with balanced tannins, good acidity and a pleasing taste, which will entice you to try multiple sips. Bottles will be available for purchase (and then will be shipped to buyers).
The vineyard project is a collaboration of Coastal Viticultural Consultants, Livermore Area Recreation and Park District, the City of Livermore, and the Friends of the Vineyards. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Ravenswood Progress League, which works to support public tours, historical programs, and community and cultural special events at Ravenswood.
